Nouran El Torky, the Teaching Pro at Potomac Squash, and Founder of El Torky Squash Academy (ETSA) offers programs for junior players and adults, ranging from personal coaching to open round-robin play for all. Regardless of your skill level, Nouran has a variety of options to build your squash game to meet your schedule and interests!
Nouran El Torky has brought new energy to the club giving lessons and conducting clinics, having been ranked as high as 41st in the world by the Professional Squash Association. Currently ranked number 68, Nouran, and her older sister Heba, currently ranked 47th, are the strongest squash sisters in the world. When asked what is the secret to the success of Egyptian squash, Nouran smiles, and says it is not the Pyramids, the Sphinx or the River Nile, but the training methods.
Nouran advises aspiring junior players to make sure to keep squash “fun” and not to put too much pressure on yourself, especially when you suffer the inevitable losses, so long as you learn from them. She adds that “it’s very important to stay focused during your practice to learn the skills even if the drills sometimes seem boring. That way, the repetition during practice enables you to execute your skills under competitive pressure.” Those of who have taken lessons or participated in clinics that Nouran leads will attest to her hard work on the court and her knowledge of the game.

Private and Semi-Private Lessons
- Individual lessons: $95 per hour
- Package of 10: $950, plus 1 free lesson
- Package of 20: $1900, plus 3 free lessons
- Nouran, at her discretion, may offer lessons of other duration, for multiple persons, etc., based on demand.
- Nouran will give every new PSC Member a complimentary lesson (60 minutes)

Cancellation of a Lesson by a player: Please be fair.
If you cancel your lesson with less than 24 hours notice, or do not show up, Nouran is unable to schedule another player for that time.
There is a charge of 50% of lesson fee for no shows and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
Adult Clinics
Clinics are a great option for new players, or players looking to hone a specific skill. During 2023 there is one regularly scheduled clinic for Member adults per week, alternating between Tuesday evenings at 7:15 pm and Saturdays at 12:00pm (Noon).
The clinics will also alternate between Beginner/Intermediate level and Intermediate/Advanced level, so that every four weeks each level will be available once at both scheduled times.
There is also a weekly Women’s clinic. A non-member may participate only in a Women’s Clinic on a space-available basis, when invited by a Member and in accordance with the PSC’s Guest Policy.
Beginner/Intermediate Level Clinics
These weekly clinics are open to players new to the game or those who want to work on basic squash skills: striking the ball consistently, moving on the court, and rules of the game.
Free for Members.
Intermediate/Advanced Level Clinics
These weekly clinics are designed for players skilled enough to can strike the ball consistently, hit rails and serve regularly but not always with good depth or control. Such players are also starting to use boasts, lobs and drops. These clinics work on hitting to length, ball control, court movement and racquet preparation. This is a great clinic for converted racquetball or tennis players, or those who have picked up squash on their own but have never taken formal lessons.

Women’s Clinics for Members and Guests on Saturday at 2:00 pm
For women new to the game, or those who haven’t played for a while, our Women’s-only clinics are a great opportunity to build skills and fitness for independent play. It is also a great way to meet new players at your level.
A non-member may participate on a space-available basis, when invited by a Member and in accordance with the PSC’s Guest Policy.
Free for Members; $40 for guests
Junior Clinics
In addition, Junior clinics will be provided provided based on demand.
Children of Members will pay $40.
Visiting Pro Clinics
From time to time, a great teaching or touring pro comes to town. This is a chance for you to get a new perspective on the skills you work on with your regular partners and coach. These occasional events will be announced well in advance by mass e-mail to members.
